Decoloniality and Aging Activisms

So much to think about following the 2016 National Women's Studies Association Conference. Maddy, May and Melissa were grateful to gather with so many feminist thinkers and creators and grateful to the Kanien’keha:ka (Mohawk) on whose traditional and unceded territories we gathered as uninvited guests. We are sitting with the words of so many important thinkers and creators: Leanne Betasamosake Simpson, Audra Simpson, Chineya Oparah, Kim TallBear, Angela Davis, Chandra Mohanty, Nantali Indongo, and so many more.

As their words resound in our heads and hearts and we puzzle through what they might mean for us and for our work with Aging Activisms, we wanted to offer all of you the opportunity to listen and sit with these words along with us. You can listen here to Leanne's keynote and to the plenaries with Audra Simpson, Kim TallBear, Chineya Oparah, Nantali Indongo, Favianna Rodriguez, Natalie Diaz, Anna Carastathis, Sirma Bilge, and Ange-Marie Hancock. We are so grateful for all that these folks have shared, and hope that you can share in it too.
