WOMEN’S VOICES COUNT: How women’s stories and activisms challenge gender-based violence

OUR PANELISTS:

Elizabeth Renzetti, Globe and Mail columnist and author of Shrewed: A Wry and Closely Observed Look at the Lives of Women and Girls, brings her unique perspective to the stories of women who ‘stand up and shout’.

Susan Dion, York University, Faculty of Education, draws on the work of contemporary Indigenous feminist art and film, to examine the role of listening and dialogue in learning from Indigenous women’s responses to colonial violence.

May Chazan, Trent University, Gender and Women’s Studies, co-editor ofUnsettling Activisms, explores the ‘everyday,’ often unrecognized, but vital ways that older women of different backgrounds confront gendered and ageist norms.
