Melissa Baldwin, co-chair of Aging Activisms, just completed an MA in Canadian and Indigenous Studies at Trent University, looking at the Peterborough Poetry Slam as a resistant space-making. Along with Maddy Macnab, Melissa co-hosted a radio show, Aging Radically, on Trent Community Radio to create spaces for inter- generational conversations about activism across people’s lives. Melissa has worked as a research assistant to May since 2012, co-authoring several journal articles and conference papers with her over this time. As a genderqueer settler person, Melissa is grateful to be living, learning, loving, growing, and rabble-rousing in Michi Saagiig Anishinaabe territory.

Aging Activisms is a program of activist research, academic mentorship, and intergenerational community-building led by
Dr. May Chazan, Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Gender and Feminist Studies at Trent University.
